Medical treatment & first aid. First aid and treatment for minor illnesses should be available but only by competent staff. Records should be kept of all first aid administered or treatment given. Students who are ill are regularly checked and are able to easily get assistance when needed. Students who are homesick or suffering from stress are given suitable support. This could be from an outside service such as a counsellor or psychologist.
Equal opportunities. Students should be discriminated against on grounds of gender, disability, race, religion, cultural or linguistic backgrounds, political beliefs, sexual orientation, academic or sporting ability.
Contact with family. Students should be able to contact their families in private.
Money and possessions. Each student should have a secure place to keep personal possessions safe e.g. a locker.
Arriving and leaving college. There is an induction process and guidance for students arriving at college and preparation prior to leaving.
