We are here to make sure that you are listened to and your rights are respected
The Office of the Children's Rights Director is hosted by Ofsted - The Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. Ofsted inspect places where young people stay when they are living away from home. If you want to find out more about Ofsted use the link to visit their website.
There are a special set of rules called the Children’s Rights Director Regulations 2007, that say we must listen to children and young people who live away from home in either a children’s home, boarding school, residential special school, further education college or residential family centre, are in foster care, are being adopted, have left care, or are getting help from social services.
We go all over the country to visit places where you live so you can tell us what you think. We also organise events in cool places - why not have a look on the Cool Events page to find out more. Surveys are another great way of gathering your views and you can find out more about them from the survey page. The Be Heard page lets you see other interesting ways we gather young people’s views and lets you see what happens with your views.
